General Information: Licences, Documents, Guides, Accommodation and Meals
Documents : We need a copy of your local weapon and hunting licence 4 - 5 weeks prior to your scheduled arrival. We also need a document confirming that you are the legal owner of the gun / guns you intend to bring along with you to Iceland. We need these documents in good time in order to obtain a weapon licence and a hunting licence for you in Iceland.
Guides : We offer the best professional guides available. Most often we use local hunters who know the hunting area as well as their own pockets. Included in our tours are always meet and greet at Keflavik airport.
Accommodation and meals: This varies depending on the place of hunting. Mostly in hunting lodges, but possibly also in hotels and guest houses. Usually the guide or his assistant will do the cooking at the lodge. We will try to fullfill personal wishes of the hunters in regard to menu. When possible we will of course cook wild game of the season.
Included in price :
- visa, hunting licence and weapon licence
- all transport in Iceland
- one professional guide and a 4 x 4 vehicle / boat for every two or three hunter.
- all equipment neccessary during the hunt, except clothing and firearms
- full board and accommodation from arrival until departure
Not included in price:
- ammunition
- alchoholic beverages
- excess luggage on domestic flights
- packing and shipping of trophies
- extra days in Reykjavik
- international flights.
Payments : A 30% deposit of the price of the hunt is needed to confirm booking. 70% is due 10 days before arrival. Deposit is not refundable if a trip is cancelled, unless a replacement hunter can be found.
Insurance : Purchase of insurance in case of accident, hospitalization or death is the sole responsibility of the client. We also recommend the client to protect himself by baggage and trip cancellation insurance.
Optional : Our main goal is to specialize in offering tailor made packages to meat the client’s wishes. Therefore we have only examples of hunting tours on display on our webside. As we are a fully licenced travel organizer, we can in addition provide our customers with other service such as sight seeing, whale watching or other types of hunting.
Iceland Hunting and staff are not responsible for accidents, illness, damage to equipment, delays or theft. We recommend that you contact your insurance company for coverage for your trip to Iceland and your hunting trip.
